Earthquake Relief

Our sweet little town was rocked on Saturday, August 14th by a 7.2 earthquake (epicenter was 47 miles southeast of us), but thankfully, by God’s grace, there was only severe damage to the older/historic or poorly constructed buildings in downtown. We are beyond thankful for God’s protection and provision. There are many who were injured by falling debris or while running to get to safety. Our small local hospital and it’s staff were overwhelmed and ill equipped. Some communities south of us did not fare so well. We have spent some time on the radio station talking with families from various communities, listening to their stories of loss, fear and uncertainty. The radio station has been a great tool in helping identify what communities need the most assistance, etc. Our mission, in partnership with other organizations in our area, is to help families rebuild and help provide supplies needed like clean drinking water, medical needs, tarps, etc. Please continue to pray for this beautiful country and her people. Each call on the radio station these past few days represents a person/family in need. Let us come alongside them in love, pointing them to God – our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46)

If you would like to help our staff serve in this capacity you can contribute through Givelify (link right and click Earthquake Relief), through Venmo @jeremie-christian-mission or by mailing your contribution to Jeremie Christian Mission, PO Box 273, Scottsmoor, FL 32775. 100% of funds contributed will go to helping families recover.

I just want to reiterate all our staff are safe and blessed to be able to proclaim that. We are honored to be here in Jeremie to serve in any capacity and be a voice to those in need. Thank you for your continued prayers and support!
